Automated score keeping rocks...

This board works well, just like any other dart board but the score keeping and number of game combinations makes it worth the money. I don't much care for the canned taunts but when you are drunk they can be entertaining.
Great Fun

We were skeptical about the electronics, but the board is great fun for our grandkids (7 yrs and up) and adults. The kids love the heckler (it also cuts down on their own heckling - nice), but you can also turn it off. We move the boarder lower for the little kids. Highly recommend this as a fun addition. Only problem is the darts that come with it are worthless. Many good darts are available. We found some decent quality ones at Walmart for under $10.
Ditch the Heckler = Decent Board.

Someone thought the heckler was a good idea. Likely several someones... it makes me wonder what the product development cycle looked like. What were you thinking, guys?? Thankfully, you CAN turn off the heckler. Trust me, you'll want to.

The board keeps score very well. It's great for 301/501 for those of us who have trouble with the instant math required. With the heckler turned off, the game calls out each hit in a cheerful voice. Much better! It's been flawless in it's accuracy in detecting hits correctly. Has "Bounce Out" feature to reverse out a dart hit that subsequently falls out or bounces out.

The board is easy enough to set up, but keep the manual safe, because the variants are not easily discernable without it.

It's been said elsewhere, and bears repeating: Do no bother to even assemble the set of darts that come in the box. Pitch them in the trash. They're unstable in flight. They're also too light, weighing in at 9 grams each and feel like you're throwing nothing. Without sufficient weight they don't stick well and are constantly bouncing out. Real darts weigh generally no less than 16 grams, and preferably 18 grams. Big difference.

Get a set or two of real darts. Brands like Laser, Bottelsen, Harrows, Dart World... Anything that's 80% or 90% Tungsten generally is a real step up. Tungsten darts are slimmer than brass for the equivalent weight, meaning in tight groups you don't have your prior dart crowding your next incoming dart out. Stay away from the cute "bumble bee" buzz bomb/torpedo style brass darts for that reason. And Tungsten darts have no lead content to worry about.

Another reviewer mentioned flights coming off. Yes, flights come off even the best of darts. They're supposed to do that if 2 darts come in close together, the incomming dart would cut/smash it's or the other dart's flights if they didn't. BUT... you can get spinner shafts like TopSpin that will help with that problem, allowing the flights of each dart to rotate out of the way of each other. If it keeps happening for no reason, suspect your shafts are the problem and not the dart itself. You can get different shafts for like $5 per set.

I ordered the dart board because we had a real one, and with animals in the house it scared me to be using real metal darts. This board has lots of features, and wonderful when you have company. So far, we've had no problems with bounce outs. The boys throw very aggressivly though and the darts want to stick into the holes. Also, the darts it comes with are not very good quality. We broke one the first night and the tags won't stay on. I plan on buying some better darts to go with it, but the board was worth it because it keeps score for so many games and up to 8 people. I'd recommend the game for anyone, any age.

The dart board is very well made and has great features. It keeps score for you and was easy to hang up. The only thing is that the darts do bounce out every so often. Having this as being our first dart board I'm not sure if thats just normal, but in the description it does say that it has a feature to prevent bounce outs. Other than that my wife and I love it and play often.

Todays tip
When mounting a new bristle dartboard, there will be 3 rubber or steel-spring feet included in the package. These are usually mounted on the dartboard to prevent it from wobbling. Instead, mount them on the backboard. Then, the next time you replace your board, that part is already done! This is especially handy for bars, or for tournament backboards."
